Run For The Gold

September 5th & 6th, 2008

We're gearing up for the 6th edition of Run for the Gold, Oakhurst's Classic Car show! This event, for cars from 1972 or before, takes place annually in Oakhurst, California and is sponsored by area businesses.

All proceeds from the show go to the Oakhurst Sierra Sunrise Rotary for distribution to local elementary schools. In 2007 alone, over $20,000 was raised from this single event. For a list of funding recipients, visit our Donations page!

The show takes place on the second weekend of September, kicking off on the afternoon of Friday, September 5th, 2008 and wrapping up Saturday, September 6th, 2008. A complete event listing can be found here!

Registration is on Friday evening or Saturday morning, and the show itself takes place Saturday morning and afternoon, concluding with the Rotary's Choice, "Real" Hot Rod & Best of show awards ceremony & optional cruise to Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.

Visitors without a classic car can join in the fun, with music, raffles and food on Saturday. Admission for the general public is FREE!

Run for the Gold is held in the town of Oakhurst, California which is at the intersection of Highways 41 & 49 in Madera County, roughly 50 minutes north of Fresno.

The show itself takes place at the Oakhurst Community Park, and the Friday night kickoff party happens 'on the green' behind the Oakhurst Lodge.
